Golf is a great sport for those who wish to relax and get moderate exercise. Continue reading this article to learn what you need to know to get started in golf and better your game.

There is no magic formula, so you will need to find out for yourself what works well for you. Based on a variety of physical attributes, finding your proper stance may look much different than the best stance for other golfers you play with. When you find the proper stance for you, your game will improve.

A good golf tip to help with your swing is to coordinate the movements of your body with your swing. A lot of beginners think their arms should carry the swing and end up with a weak swing by employing this misconception. It’s more efficient to gyrate your whole body to match the club’s motion.

Wiggling your toes can determine whether your golfing stance will be effective. If a golfer ready to swing is unable to wiggle their toes easily, then they are leaning in too much in the direction of the ball. Ideally, your stance should allow for just enough backward lean to allow for movement in the feet.

Examine your club to find its center or “sweet spot.” No matter what brand of golf club you own, it should have this spot; when you strike the ball using the direct center of the club head, you can gain incredible drive length and precision. Practice with these clubs to make sure you know where your sweet spot is and how to hit it each time.

When you are putting, you should address the ball with your left hand ahead of the ball. Maintain proper posture and hand position throughout your swing. This keeps the ball from falling off the club’s face when contact is made.

Be sure that your feet are lined up correctly. This is probably the most practical way to improve swing accuracy. You should line your feet up perpendicular to the bearing that you need the golf ball to travel. An easy way to check this is to put your club against your toes, so the end of the club is pointing in the direction the ball will travel.

Buying a golf club is an investment, so consider having it custom-fitted to you. Since all golfers are built differently, different clubs work better for different people. Having a club just right for your size will help you develop a good swing.

Check the club head – before you buy a used golf club! A worn, shiny area on the head of the club may be an indicator that the club was used excessively. This isn’t good since it won’t hold onto the ball tool well.

Now with what you learned about golf, you shouldn’t lack confidence in approaching the game in the future. As with most things, as you learn more about golf, your skill will increase, so put the ideas in this article to work for you.
